Prabowo Inaugurates Terminal 2F Dedicated for Hajj and Umrah at Soetta Airport
Jakarta, PANGKEP NEWS – On Sunday, May 4, 2025, President Prabowo Subianto officially opened the specialized Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F at Soekarno Hatta International Airport. This terminal has the capacity to accommodate 94 million passengers annually.
In his speech, Prabowo expressed pride in the modern, spacious, and comfortable facilities, emphasizing its impressive capacity of over 94 million people per year.
He also extended his gratitude to all parties involved in the project, including the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, InJourney Airport, PT Angkasapura, the Ministry of Transportation, and Danantara Indonesia.
Erick Thohir, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, explained that the special terminal for Hajj and Umrah is part of the revitalization and relocation project of terminal 2F, aimed at providing optimal services for Umrah and Hajj. The project includes facility improvements.
“Previously, there was no waiting area for pilgrims for manasik, and they had to endure the heat. Now, as you can see, the conditions are much better with a cool atmosphere, a mosque, a manasik area, halal products, and a lounge,” Erick stated in his address.
He further mentioned the importance of public transportation connecting the airport with the city, which has been established through bus and train services.
Looking ahead, Erick noted that terminal 1 will undergo renovations to accommodate low-cost carrier (LCC) flights.
“We plan to inaugurate the low-cost terminal 1F in the first quarter of 2026, God willing,” he added.
